ECP3和ECP5是不同的设计，即使在开发ECP5时努力使ECP5唤醒序列行为与ECP3相同，但它们之间存在结构差异。就tMWC（DONE引脚为高电平时的附加唤醒主时钟）而言，对于ECP5，它应为零。由于ECP3唤醒FSM在端口时钟上运行，因此需要额外的时钟来完成整个唤醒序列（DONE引脚可能会在某些选项的序列中提前释放）。但对于ECP5，唤醒FSM在内部振荡器时钟上运行，该时钟独立于外部端口，因此不需要来自端口的额外时钟。
